Salient mirrors are the original security and inspection mirrors, first developed in the 1980s by Salient Manufacturing Company. The company worked closely with independent and governmental security experts to develop highly functional and customizable surveillance and security mirrors, including both hand-held and under-vehicle designs.

Here are short profiles of the Hawk Gear team:
Walt is an Irwinton, GA native who has made his career as a successful businessman and entrepreneur. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Walt assumed full responsibility at GIGA, Inc., a contract supplier to the U.S. military and federal government. He has been a part of the company’s successful operation and expansion for over three decades.
In 2014, Miller formed Hawk Gear as an auxiliary company. The acquisition of Salient Manufacturing was completed in 2016 and operations were moved to Macon, GA. The Salient security and surveillance mirror product line and all manufacturing operations were added to the Hawk Gear portfolio. In addition to manufacturing security mirrors, Hawk Gear performs other sales and distribution tasks as well as kitting and assembly operations.
When he’s not working, Walt enjoys hunting, fishing, and “everything outdoors.” He and his wife, Connie, also enjoy spending time with their kids and grandkids.

As VP of Hawk Gear, David Miller handles all of the financial workings of the business and is very involved in day-to-day activities. A graduate of Georgia Tech, David’s area of specialty is technical writing, but he’s become well versed in all aspects of business after joining the family company in 2010.
David is married to Janelle, also a Georgia Tech grad and an engineer. The couple has one son, Harrison. An avid computer enthusiast, David likes all things tech.

As the Sales Account Manager of Hawk Gear, Lacy’s favorite thing about her job is building lasting relationships with her customers. Every day, she strives to deliver top-notch customer service. She is a CGTC graduate with a degree in Logistics Management.
At Hawk Gear, Lacy is involved in all aspects of the business, from initial customer contact through the ordering process, production scheduling, and ensuring that orders are shipped on time. She’s the go-to person to check availability, order status, and to answer questions.
Lacy lives in her hometown, Perry, GA, with her husband Kyle and son Luke. She loves family time, reading, and anything that expresses her creativity.
